Julian Street Inn
Julian Street Inn is the only facility in Santa Clara County that provides emergency shelter to clients diagnosed with a mentally illness. 70 beds are available for men and women who have been diagnosed with a mental illness and are actively engaged in the mental health systems. Clients may stay for up to 60 days. During their stay, they participate in case management coordinated with their county mental health case manager. Individuals receive one-on-one counseling and support as well as participating in support groups. The groups are designed to help clients increase their coping skills, maintain sobriety, and develop resources to help them maintain independence.

SafeHaven Program
The SafeHaven Program is part of a national model to help individuals with severe mental illnesses that have avoided shelter programs in the past. The goal is to help them access services and to assist them with income maintenance support. Ten beds at Julian Street Inn are reserved for SafeHaven participants. These are individuals who have been diagnosed with a mental illness but are not yet receiving all of the benefits for which they qualify. A SafeHaven case manager works with them for up two years to help them through the process and help them plan for a successful reentry into permanent housing.
