Volunteer Needs Update

Computer Instructor - Georgia Travis Center
Weekdays
Teach small groups the basics of Word, Excel, and computer usage. Bilingual Spanish/English is helpful.

Computer Lab Monitor - various locations
weekdays, evenings,
Teach small groups the basics of Word, Excel, and computer usage. Bilingual Spanish/English is helpful.
Provide one-on-one drop-in assistance in Resume writing, WORD, EXCEL, and basic computer skills.

After School Tutor - Commercial Street Inn
Mon-Thurs 4:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Help children with their homework. Create activities for younger children.

Program Assistant at Georgia Travis Center
Monday through Friday 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
Help with program needs including children's programs, meals, workshops and front office.

Job Search Coach - Georgia Travis Center
weekdays
Teach women interviewing skills, telephone skills, and workplace etiquette.

Office Assistant - Administration Office
weekdays
Answer phones, help with copying, data entry, mailings, other office work.

Group Projects:

  • Meal Provider - provide food, prepare and serve a meal at one of InnVision's programs for the homeless. (appropriate for groups with ability to collect funds or solicit food donations)
  • Kitchen Crew - Provide support in maintaining program kitchen and warehouse.
  • Donation Warehouse - Sort and distribute donations to clients Weekdays 11am-4:30pm. Project can accommodate groups up to 25 people.
  • Produce Market - Help register clients and distribute free fresh produce. Fourth Thursday of the month 9:30am-2:30pm
  • Vision Outreach - Church groups and youth groups can participate in meal program by preparing food and serving at shelter. Food can be prepared at InnVision's kitchen or at church by arrangement.
  • Adopt-An-Inn - Have your group "adopt" a room or portion of one of the Inn's to provide period painting and light maintenance, and spring cleaning.
  • Painting /Cleaning/Yardwork- Provide labor for one-time painting, cleaning, or yardwork projects throughout the year.
