January 28, 2003, - The 10th Anniversary celebration
of Hope and New Beginnings will be the kick off for the Capital Campaign for
the new site. The event will be held on Monday, February 3 at the new site
location of 297 Commercial St. in San Jose. One of the oldest centers at InnVision,
Georgia Travis Center is being relocated to this larger location, which needs
extensive renovation. Plans for the proposed facility renovation will be on
display. Homeless and at-risk women and children are denied the most basic
privileges most of us take for granted. With no place to call "home",
they are forced onto city streets to fend for themselves. To them suffering,
hunger, cold and fear are a part of life. For the past ten years, The Georgia
Travis Center offers these women and children a chance with hot meals, baby
supplies, showers, laundry services, case management, computer training, job
search counseling, drug and alcohol counseling, medical care, legal aid, housing
referrals, transportation, mail and voice mail services, self-help workshops,
and child care with indoor and outdoor play areas. The new facility will make
it possible to do more.

InnVision CEO, Christine Burroughs says, "This year Cadence Design Systems
and its employees raised nearly $700,000.00 to ensure that the new center
was able to become a reality and this event will be a tribute to their efforts
and the continued support of the community."
San Jose City Council Member, Cindy Chavez, Joanne Johnson Felt, President
of Junior League San Jose and members of the AAUW Los Gatos/Saratoga branch
will be among the speakers who will honor the many volunteers and donors who
have made this project a true success story.
