CHRISTINE BURROUGHS
INNVISION CEO
Christine has successfully led InnVision the Way Home since 1991. During her tenure, she has grown the organization from a small, grass-roots agency into a leading provider of housing and support services to over 20,000 homeless individuals and families in Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. She oversees 120 staff at 20 sites with an annual operating budget of $11 million. She has spearheaded the development of many community partnerships and at least 12 capital projects including the building/rehab of various shelters, transitional housing, permanent affordable apartments and multi-service centers. Program development has included mental health services, alcohol/drug rehabilitation, job training and children's activities for all ages. To further expand services and funding support, Christine recently led InnVision through two mergers with similar agencies located in Palo Alto and Menlo Park.
As a member of the San Jose Rotary Club she serves on 2 committees whose focus is youth development. She has served in leadership roles on various local coalitions and boards advocating for the homeless. Christine is also vice-president of the board of the Children's Musical Theatre in San Jose, a board member for the Shortino Family Foundation and the Community Working Group .
In 1997 she was honored as a "Woman of Achievement" by the SJ Mercury News/Women's Fund and has received commendations/awards from city and county officials as well as the Management Center in San Francisco. In 2004
and 2005 San Jose Magazine heralded her as one of the valley's Power 100.
Her previous employment included operations management at KNTV, donor relations at the American Red Cross, and real estate sales at Century 21. She has demonstrated ability in working with diverse community groups and has been dedicated to the continuous improvement of agency programs and systems.
A strong visionary and entrepreneur, she has raised millions of new dollars from government entities, corporations, foundations, churches, schools, civic groups and individuals- making InnVision one of the fastest growing non-profits in Silicon Valley. Her business acumen in organizational development, HR, budgeting and property development/ management as well as her collaborative approach to building partnerships and overseeing complex projects have resulted in the agency achieving overall excellence in its field.
She is married to Rev. Larry Burroughs, has 3 children and 2 grandchildren.
